Neil Mellerick

Neil graduated in 1977 from the British School of Osteopathy (BSO) in London. He initially worked in a busy East London practice while establishing the Sawbridgeworth practice on a part time basis.

In 1980 he helped set up the BSO's sports injury clinic, then in 1982 transferred to teaching part time in the BSO's general clinic. He has continued teaching at the BSO one day a week and is now a member of the Senior Clinical Management team.

As an experienced osteopathic educator, Neil was one of the first practitioners to be registered with the newly formed GOsC in 1998, following which he was a member of the assessment panel dealing with applications from the main body of the profession.

He does not consider himself to be a specialist in any one area of Osteopathy, but works as a general osteopathic practitioner, using a wide range of structural osteopathic technique and patient management approaches.

He has gained an excellent reputation with other local healthcare professionals, and maintains a wide referral network for patients requiring additional investigation or treatment.

In 1988 Neil gained specialist recognition status with PPP Healthcare and BUPA, and since then has become registered with all the major healthcare insurance providers, which ensures a quick referral should it be necessary. Insured patients accounts are submitted direct to the relevant private health insurer as long as the required authorisation has been obtained prior to treatment.
